weight loss goal!



this week i finally hit my prebaby weight! i'm officially the weight i was when i became pregnant with #4, which means a loss of over 45lbs in the last year. (i gained 70lbs with the pregnancy!) one of the ways i did this was to cut out fast food. i realized several months ago that i had to either give up my coffee drinks or fast food. no wavering there, i can't give up the coffee! so i've worked hard to not eat it, even when i get it for the kids. tonight on the way home from church i decided to run through taco bell (hence the pic of me with my enchirito:) so here's the funny thing, it didn't taste good at all. taco bell is what i always crave when i'm pregnant but after all these months of staying away from fast food, i'm realizing its really not very good. i had gotten in the really bad habit of eating it several times a week out of busyness and convenience. heart disease is rampant in my family so i knew i had to stop, not only for my weight loss goals but for my health. now that i've gone so long trying not to eat it, it doesn't appeal to me anymore. now if i could say the same for chocolate and sour cream and cheddar potato chips i'd be set! my next goal is to loose ten more pounds which would put me at the weight i was when i got pregnant with baby #2 (i was 24 then). we'll see!

Thats wonderful! You must be thrilled- I sincerely hope to see my pre-baby weight agan one sweet day. 45 lbs in one year is amazing! I would love to drop that amount+ If you would like to devulge your secrets to success please feel free =)

i'd love to tell you i have some awesome secret to weight loss! but in reality, it's just common sense. going to the gym three times a week. doing 30 mins of cardio and then weights. cut out fast food and soda (only drink soda once a week at the most). i allow myself to snack as often as i want i just try not to eat junk. i'll have yogurt with almonds in it or cheese and crackers. something with protein because i have blood sugar issues. if i want to have a peice of cheesecake, i do it at lunch time instead of the evening. i try not to totally deny myself things, because then i crave them :) i try to slip in calorie burning activities wherever i can since there are many days i just cannot get to the gym. i'll park far away and walk fast through the parking lot or take the kids for a walk. who knows how many calories are added pushing a double stroller :) now when i had my other three kids, i couldn't afford to go to a gym. so i bought a cheap pilates video off ebay and did that three times a week along with hand weights and a treadmill. i've gained 50-70lbs with all four babies due to gestational diabetes. good luck! the main thing is that i decided to be patient with myself. as you can see, it took my two years to lose it all. i probably could have done it quicker if i'd been really disciplined but i just didn't want to!

I just wanted to say thanks for the crockpot tortilla soup recipe. My kids loved it. My daughter had a cold and really enjoyed this verion of chicken soup because the spicy salsa helped loosen her congestion!

Congratulations on the weight loss. See, your 2009 is already getting better!

Good for you girl! Hell, I've gained 55 already and I still have 4 months to go with these boys. I know that I'll have to make some serious sacrifices after they are born if I ever hope to fit in my jeans again....UGH!
